Q. Re: “Where no man or beast shall pass through the land for 40 years.”  This is in Ezekiel 29. Has this already happened or a future event?

A. The quote is taken from Ezekiel 29:11-12 and concerns Egypt. There’s no record of this happening from Ezekiel’s day to ours, so many scholars believe it will happen during the Millennium.  Zechariah 14:18-19 hints of this.

If the Egyptian people do not go up and take part, they will have no rain. The LORD will bring on them the plague he inflicts on the nations that do not go up to celebrate the Festival of Tabernacles.  This will be the punishment of Egypt and the punishment of all the nations that do not go up to celebrate the Festival of Tabernacles.

Ezekiel 29:13-15 says at the end of the forty years Egypt will be restored, but as a weak and lowly kingdom without influence in the world.
